BILD International's Leadership Series is a comprehensive set of resources designed to integrate with a community-based process of equipping ministers of the gospel. Engagement with community and mission is the integrative thread throughout the series, which seeks to accomplish two primary objectives:

  • To equip the apprentice in a sound church-based philosophy of ministry, godly character, and essential skills required of those with equipping gifts. (Leadership Series I)
  • To guide the apprentice in the formation of a biblical theology of the Bible and in the completion of a "Comprehensive Belief Framework in Culture," which addresses contemporary cultural issues from the foundation of the Biblical narrative. (Leadership Series II)

While the Leadership Series exists in two primary divisions, as seen above, they also are arranged according to three different emphases: character, ministry, and academic. While these three emphases are necessarily intertwined and integrated, these three divisions help orient the participant to a particular spirit pursued in the course.

Character Courses

The Character courses are designed to specifically form a mental, spiritual, and practical wisdom into the life of the participant. Courses and issues are constructed to emphasize personal reflection, discipline, orientation, holiness, use of time, perseverance, and other key character traits.

Ministry Courses

The Ministry courses are designed to specifically form a philosophy of ministry based upon the principles and patterns of the first-century church as revealed in the New Testament and affirmed by history and tradition. Courses and issues are constructed to emphasize the importance of developing ministries around biblical principles, patterns, and contemporary culture.
